About Anna

I’ve always wanted to do something unconventional with my life. Joining the United States Peace Corps only seemed like the natural next step for me after graduating from university.

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

I can officially call myself a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV). This was not my first time abroad – I was born in Sweden to a Swedish mother and a British father, spent my summers in Europe visiting relatives, and studied abroad in Bristol, England for 6 months in 2014 – but this was my first trip to Asia.

Although I am an RPCV, here at Goneawhile.com, you can continue reading stories of all the places I visited, the many people I met, the many videos I shot, and the photographs that I snapped. My goal was to share my Peace Corps experiences in Mongolia while sharing with the world more about a country many people aren’t aware of or know absolutely nothing about. I think I did a fairly decent job.

I also credit Peace Corps with my change in career. It is because of my time spent abroad that I have decided to go to nursing school. A fact that has taken some of my friends and family by surprise, but is yet another challenge I am willing to embark upon.
